Will Preschools in Karnataka Remain Closed on December 11, 2024?

The Government of Karnataka has declared a public holiday on December 11, 2024, for all educational institutions, government offices, and colleges as a mark of respect for former Chief Minister SM Krishna, who passed away recently. The state is observing three days of mourning from December 10–12, during which public entertainment is also prohibited. The funeral will take place with full state honors at his native village, Somanahalli, in Mandya District.

SM Krishna, a visionary leader and former Chief Minister of Karnataka, was renowned for his progressive governance and dedication to public service. His contributions, including fostering IT growth in Bengaluru and emphasizing educational reforms, shaped Karnataka’s modern identity. As an accomplished diplomat, he also served as India’s External Affairs Minister, strengthening the nation’s global presence. SM Krishna’s legacy will be remembered for his statesmanship, humility, and unwavering commitment to development.
