The Government of Karnataka has declared a public holiday on December 11, 2024, for all educational institutions, government offices, and colleges as a mark of respect for former Chief Minister SM Krishna, who passed away recently. The state is observing three days of mourning from December 10–12, during which public entertainment is also prohibited. The funeral will take place with full state honors at his native village, Somanahalli, in Mandya District.
